To Business is Human (Note: A human came up with this.)

Over the last several years, we've invested heavily in AI, automation, and proprietary infrastructure that allows sophisticated capital providers to price risk efficiently and fund businesses quickly. Those investments have helped us deliver more competitive financing terms and a more seamless experience for our clients.

But after several years of building with these tools, we've become even more convinced that technology should enhance relationships—not replace them. Trust is still built person-to-person.

Throughout our client lifecycle, from the first handshake with our origination lead, to onboarding with our operations team, to transacting and working out any issues along the way, we ensure that a human is behind every business relationship. In this blog, our team writes in their own words what it means for them to deliver on the OneAM experience, which— spoiler alert— is about showing up as humans.

Sebastian Camacho: Origination

As client relationship-focused professionals, it's easy to convince ourselves that because we can automate something, we should. Yet the most meaningful relationships I've built haven't started with the perfect email sequence or the flawless LinkedIn post. They've started with a handshake, a conversation in a trade show aisle, or a five-minute interaction that turned into an hour because we discovered a shared interest.

At OneAM, we've spent the last eight months traveling across more than fifteen states. We've attended conferences, walked exhibit halls, visited customers, and met founders, CFOs, operators, and finance leaders where they are. We didn't travel because we thought every event would produce immediate business; we traveled because relationships are built through presence.

I've come to think about every client interaction through two lenses: resonance and impact. Resonance is the human connection. It's the handshake, the smile, the conversation before the meeting begins. It's demonstrating genuine curiosity about the person sitting across from you and finding common ground that reminds both of you that you're people first and professionals second.

Impact comes next. Once you've established trust, you earn the opportunity to become relevant. You begin to understand what they're trying to accomplish, what obstacles stand in their way, and how your expertise or solution can genuinely help their business, their employees, and their customers.

Technology has made it easier than ever to scale our outreach and organize our pipelines. We absolutely embrace those tools: they make us more productive and allow us to focus our time where it matters most. But we never allow efficiency to replace humanity. Every email lands in the inbox of a real person. Every phone call reaches someone balancing priorities, deadlines, and responsibilities that extend well beyond work. Every prospect is someone trying to solve problems, lead a team, and build something meaningful.

In a world increasingly driven by automation, “showing up” has become the greatest competitive advantage a business has. People don't simply buy products or services. They buy confidence. They buy trust. They buy relationships with people who consistently show up.

Dhati Chandrasekhar: Onboarding and Operations

From an operational standpoint, we employ technology behind the scenes to handle routine work with clear logic, while maintaining a human presence when it matters most: during onboarding, handling servicing exceptions, and when clients have questions.

White-glove service for onboarding. We use AI and automation to handle the heavy lifting behind the scenes such as real-time KYB/KYC (Know-Your-Business/ Customer) due diligence and producing robust data analytics. This efficiency allows us the time to provide a white-glove onboarding experience during which we pay close attention to our new client’s A/R processes and other unique elements of their business operations. This mix of automation and human touch allows us to give our clients a decision much faster than our competition typically can. Onboarding for a financial product can be daunting for a small business owner, so we provide a human touch to guide our clients through our technology-forward process. After a client is approved, we walk through the legal agreement with them to ensure we answer all questions and set them up for success.

Handling payment and transacting operations. While we lean on a technology-driven approach toour servicing, we enforce a strict “human-in-the-loop” policy at every step of the process. This is especially important for critical functions like payment processing, where we review any automated or AI-driven reconciliations to ensure 100% accuracy before finalizing any transactions.

Responding to client questions. If a client hits a technical glitch or has a question about a payment, we are directly accessible—no endless phone menus, automated loops, or unhelpful chatbots. We simply jump on a call, screen-share if needed, and resolve the issue quickly. We know that behind every hiccup is a busy business owner waiting on much-needed capital.

Matthew Selick: Client Services

As Client Services, my work involves proactively addressing our clients’ working capital gaps, providing insights and guidance, and ensuring they have a positive experience entrusting OneAM with their financing needs.

Staying a step ahead of our clients’ working capital needs. Our platform helps us track each account’s history and status in detail, so we can give real attention to every client, not only those who reach out. When we see new activity or if there’s a macro event, we determine whether it warrants a touch point. For example, when the recent global conflicts began affecting some of the businesses we serve, we didn’t wait to hear from them. We identified the invoices tied to their unaffected regions and reached out with options so they could keep capital moving through an uncertain stretch.

Helping clients make the right call. A business owner can sell an invoice in a few clicks. When to do so, and how it fits into their broader strategy, are the harder questions we help answer. Whether it’s a bank line up for renewal or payroll due before a large invoice pays out, these circumstances require judgment on working capital decisions. In addition to putting options in front of the client, we bring the advisory and insights for them to weigh the full picture, so that Early Pay works as a deliberate strategy and not a reflex.

The work behind every funded invoice. While we offer an intuitive experience for our clients to get Early Pay on their invoices, behind the scenes, we perform invoice verification, allocation to the right capital, and transaction processing. Our technology tracks all of it, so nothing slips, and each step of the process is overseen by people. When real money is moving on a real timeline, a client wants a human accountable. We know their business needs, and we answer when it matters.
